Internet has become an integral part of human life. In the world of 7.7 billion people 17 billion devices are already reported to be connected to the world’s largest network i.e. Internet. According to the NTA 90.56 percent of the population has Internet connection as of July 2021. The number of Internet users has risen dramatically in recent years. However, still there is tough to get a meaningful access to the Internet. FDE believes the access to Internet is a part of fundamental rights and work to connect unconnected. FDE collaborates stakeholders to connect end users deprived from the connection. Community Networks is one of the major alternatives for rural dwellers in Nepal. We collaborated with the Internet Society and implemented Rural Communities Access to Information Society (RUCCESS) project in 2016. Under this initiative, three ICT-enabled community learning hubs were established in rural locations of Dhading, Sindhupalchowk and Dolakha districts of Nepal. We facilitate community network operators/ providers through technical, financial and network support.
